This concludes the basic installation. If it is working, there is more to do to get things like PDF and Google Earth integration working, and to store personal files in personal folders:
Download this file of extras for the following steps:
Personal folders:
- Locate the new Skydemon Wineskin application, and right-click, then ‘show package contents’.
- You’ll see a folder called Content and inside that one called Resources
- Copy WineskinStartupScript into this folder replacing the existing file of the same name (this contains some scripting to use the user’s personal folder for storing application data)
PDF and Google Earth:
- Run Wineskin (from the ‘show package contents’ step)
- Click Tools and the regedit (this sometimes takes quite a while to load)
- Then from the registry menu import kml_and_pdf.reg
- This sets up the registry entries to open PDF files and Google Earth
Icons:
- Finally, on the ‘configuration tab’ you can change the icon to the one included in the extras zip
